Writing Spider

The coolest things in nature are sometimes right under our noses.  Or in this case, right above our heads.  We have a new house guest that hangs out by the pool.  My hubs, in his infinite wisdom (and the use of Google), found out that our house guest, once unwelcome, is actually quite the unique little character.

She...yes, she, is a black and yellow garden spider also known as a Writing Spider because of the unique pattern she "writes" in her web.

Even when the afternoon rain knocks down her web she gets right back in her corner, weaves a new one, and "writes".  I'm inspired by the simplicity yet hard work of this neat little gal.  It's time for me to go back to my corner and start writing :)
